The University of Illinois has an enrollment of 32,256 students
and ranks 46 nationally in all universities and 13th in the nation
for public universities (Rankings). The University of Illinois was founded
in 1867. It is one of the original 37 public land-grant institutions created after President Abraham Lincoln signed the Morrill Act in 1862.
Visiting Illinois many times during the past year for football and talking to the coaches and professors made me fall in love with the university and their academic program. Illinois, based on the
athletic side, is all about family and that’s the most important part in a
team.
Also, the campus is located in downtown Champaign so there are a lot of things to do. With 42,605 overall students, 31,932 are undergraduate students, 10,673 being graduated and professional students, the size of Illinois is vast.
There are over 150
academic programs in 10 academic communities, 400 plus study abroad options in over 60 countries, 1,000 plus student clubs and organizations, 66.5 percent of all classes have fewer than 30 students, and a Student to Faculty ratio: 17 to1. Since many of the classes have 30 or fewer students, U of I gives you the opportunity to get to know your professor and not just be a number. Also, with the many options to study
abroad at Illinois, it gives you a great opportunity to study in amazing places.

The high ACT scores University of Illinois ask for.
Being a student athlete at Illinois is not an easy task. There
is a mandatory study hall for all athletes and you have to be there so many
hours of the week. Also, the football team had 7 national foundation
scholar award winners the past season. Graduating as a football player at Illinois is something
they take pride in. The football team is ranked fourth out of twelve big ten teams. The percent for
Illinois student athletes graduating is 76 percent and the Illinois
football program graduation rate is increasing which is a big part of Coach
Beckman’s recruiting.
